Yup...either the fan module is on its way out (if equipped), short in the
wiring, bad PDC, or even an ignition switch can cause that.

What year is this on though?

Subject: DML: buzzing relay???

Has anyone ever heard of a relay buzzing? Walked out of the house
yesterday morning and there was a buzzing sound coming from under the
hood of my Cherokee. The electric fan relay in the PDC was buzzing
exactly like a piezo speaker! Pulled it out of the socket, and it
stopped; every time I stuck it back in it would start buzzing again,
would also do it if I disconnected and reconnected the battery. I
pulled it out and had it sitting on my desk all day to remind me to do
something about it, and went out to play with it a bit more at the end
of the day, and its no longer buzzing.

I don't know if its bad and the buzzing is the fluttering of the
switch or if its some sort of smart relay trying to tell me that the
electric fan is being naughty. Its a greenish blue color as opposed
to the other relays which are black. Its labeled as a Siemens but has
a Mopar-ish part nuber on it (starts with a 4, is about the right
length and ends with AA) Sorry, I don't have the part number in front
of me here right now. I did look it up on Google with no results.

Anyway, my initial reaction was to just replace the relay but I
didn't know if there might be something special about this one and its
trying to alert me to something with the buzzing, or if the buzz is
just a coincidence or symptom of the relay itself failing.
Unfortunately, I neglected to try it in a different socket at the
time, although I did try one of the other relays in the fan socket and
it did not buzz. I forgot to try the buzzing relay in a different
socket at the time, and of course now its not buzzing anymore so I'll
have to wait until it does it again if I want to test that I guess.

Anyhoo, I just thought that was sort've weird, and figured I'd
check to see if anyone had any experience with a buzzing relay. :-)
