Sounds like something is plugged up in the system - causing the pressure
relief valve to let go. You'll need to check the pressures of the system
before pointing the finger at anything in the system though.

Subject: DML: A strange thing happening with my A/C
Hi All,
I have a strange thing happening with my A/C (2000 5.9 Durango)
It works great blowing 45 to 55 degree air as long as the outside temp is
below about 95
Above 95 when I turn it on the clutch tries to engage and there is a pop of
type noise and the clutch will not engage. The pop seems to be a pop off
type
valve as it releases a bit of freon with each pop.
So anybody have any ideas
Thanks
Bill
