To my knowledge, you cannot buy the pumps seperate from the assembly for

Good luck finding a life time warranty fuel pump. NAPA and Autozone
both offer only 1 year warranty pumps, on all grades and brands that I
know of. I would assume Carquest and Advance also have similar warranties.

It may cost more, but would prolly have the same 1 year warranty as
aftermarket pumps.

A 1992 should still have a return style fuel system, you should have a
pressure regulator up on the fuel rail. Might be worth changing the
pressure regulator first, as the pump is more money and harder to change.

If you are changing the pump, it might be easier to pull the bed off the
truck. However the more people you have to help you do that the better.
Or you can construct something to slide the bed back onto. short
boxes are easier to move. The last time I cracked open my fuel tank for
repairs I actually dropped teh tank because the tank straps were new and
I had very little fuel in the tank at the time.

Generally I would suggest a Bosch fuel pump. THey are a good quality,
have the same 1 year warranty, and generally operate quieter than other
cheaper pumps. NAPA and AutoZone sell them, dunno if others do. Next
to a Bosch, I would say Carter pumps (NAPA again) would be my other choice.
