But with the 5.9L 360 you have to deal with:

1) The infamous transmissions failures
2) The infamous plenum gasket failures

Not sure how accurate these number are, but:

5.9L V8 360
245 hp @4000 rpm
330 ft. lbs. @ 3250 rpm

4.7L V8 287
235hp @4800 rpm
295 ft-lbs @3200 rpm

The HO 4.7L would be a nice option to find in a Quad
Cab!

Get the 4.7L V8. I have owned trucks with BOTH motors,
and would take the 4.7L V8 ANY DAY.
