Ok.. I had the scanner hooked up to the truck this AM - it started puking
and I
hit the record button... got 5 pre trigger frame captures -5,-4,-3,-2,-1 and
40
post trigger captures.

Plugged the thing into my new HP Pavilion (yeah I bought a PC I'm not Mac
Pure
anymore - and Windows Vista does suck)

and having bought a PC with Vista*

You can see that starting with frame 0 and on, the truck speed slows down as
the engien starts to misfire, the engine RPM starts to drop and finally
frame 4
and 5 show the ending RPM drop and the truck lost power and stepping on the
throttle wouldnt do much at all and it backfires. It shook itself out of it
pretty quickly - and naturally - it threw a worse episode on the way home
from
work, and the scanner, being full from the data in the AM, I couldnt capture
it
- but I'm planning on capturing more events as they happen... hopefully I'll
get it when its really having a fit and get some more data for those who
know
more than I do about this stuff, to ponder over...

Bernd, I think some of the data values you were looking for are there?
Something that looks like fuel trim?
