Yes I see that now after having read the posts today. Heh. a "double cardan"
set up is what is on the front drive shaft - sometimes called a "CV Joint".

Nothing more than a terminology confusion here (SORRY MIKE!) hehe...

Typically in the autoparts world - a CV shaft is considered the shaft on the
AXLE. "CV" - constant velocity is basically a generic term, used to denote any
type of joint where there is movement to allow two joined shafts to operate at
angles. Calling that double cardan joint a CV joint - while technically
correct - will usually confuse most parts store staff :)

And yes - there is no problem driving with the front drive SHAFT removed from
the truck :)
