RE: Was: MAP sensor; Now: Vacuum 101

When the vacuum can't go anywhere (as in the exhaust) - it stays/builds up
in the engine.

Easy way to understand: What happens when you put a vacuum to a sealed A/C
system - it goes up. What happens when there's a leak - it goes down.

Me too...It would seem to me that a clogged cat would create more pressure
(back pressure) and not vacuum. I realize this isn't so...but why? How
about Vacuum 101, The Why's and Why Not's.

Thanks,
James

Clogged cat makes the vacuum go up, not down.
