I don't know what's considered "normal" but my '92 idled around 650 stock
and about 550 after the cam and head work.

Yes.

Neither.

You can adjust the idle speed with the throttle stop on the TB....but not
with the engine running or the PCM will compensate. Since I have a very
loose torque converter I had to raise mine to 800 rpm so I could stage at
the track at an idle. It also helps to keep the alternator charging well
with UD pullies.

I need to leave for the track in a few so I'll give you the correct idle
adjustment procedure tomorrow. It's important....but too freakin simple!
