173,000 miles and I still have my original sensors...oh well. I DID have to
replace my lower ball joints today however. I had the uppers and lowers
done a year ago and replaced with Moogs, but in the last month, had this
terrible squeak. It took me a while to realize it was my lower ball joints.
I tried to put some green grease in the left one and found that I could not
seem to get any to go in. I finally unscrewed the zerk and it was
completely clogged. My guess is there was never any grease put in it.
After checking the right side..same thing...uppers were fine. So I ordered
new lowers again from Rockauto, replaced them and told Rockauto my story.
They told me those units are lifetime guaranteed and to send them back.
They are refunding for the parts and their part of shipping. I put on the
new lowers and pumped grease into the new ball joints. I love a happy
ending.

Subject: DML: Replacing O2 sensors on 2001 3.9L V6

Before winter gets here, I'm planning some preventative and other
maintenance
on my '01. I have that driveshaft to install, brakes to do, and I'm looking
to do plugs, wires, and O2 sensors. The truck has just over 100K miles on
it,
and I have no records prior to 95K, so I'm assuming that the plugs, wires,
and O2 sensors are originals

Looking at Rockauto.com, it looks like I need two O2 sensors:

BOSCH Part # 15729 {Oxygen Sensor}
Right side; 4 Wire; Heated; Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles;
Universal
Type - Upstream
Left side; 4 Wire; Heated; Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles;
Universal
Type - Upstream

BOSCH Part # 15730 {Oxygen Sensor}
Right side; 4 Wire; Heated; Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles;
Universal
Type - Downstream
Left side; 4 Wire; Heated; Check / Replace Interval: 100,000 Miles;
Universal
Type - Downstream

Right? Or would I be better off with the Denso, Standard Motor Products, or
AC
Delco parts here?
