You can blame the attorneys for the limits. I've had the Caravan on the
bump stops - not a pretty sight and had to change the factory shocks as they

I have weigh station tickets from a couple of jobs ago for a 2003
windstar, and they are all 6000+, Every one. Damn thing still got 30
mpg even loaded like that. I put 95k miles on that van, mostly that
loaded, so you might understand the source of my disdain for "load
limits" that are unrealistic or overly cautious...
