It's a good idea anyway - the parking pawl isn't exactly a good measure to
hold your vehicle anyway. BTW: It's been called a "Parking Brake" for many
years - not an "Emergency Brake" (not to be used for emergencies anyway).

Maybe I'm weird, but I always set the parking brake. Automatic or not.
Perhaps it's my manual transmission habits.
