Logical thinking, but while the engines are the same, there is a lot that
has changed over the years between the two vehicles. Personally, I'd say
still go with the Caravan or T&C, just for gas mileage, and functionality
with a family. Especially if you have more than two kids.

Brian and rest,

I thought if I went with the '99 or '00 Durango 4x2 5.2L, lots of stuff
would be similar
to my 1992 Dakota 5.2L.

In that way, if the Durango needed service ( belts, hoses, water pumps,
brakes,
bearings, spark plugs, oil changes, etc) I would have some, if not all, of
the parts
already.

Plus I wouldn't have to learn a lot of new things about the new vehicle.

I was trying to keep things simple. Does this line of thinking seem wrong?
Or should I
go with Caravan still?
