It's easier if you remove the radiator and just move the condenser out of
the way. Yes, remove the belt - pulley - and balancer. Installing the seal
isn't hard either but make sure you have a flat piece of either wood or a
socket that fits around the edge of the seal. When reinstalling the
balancer - do NOT beat it on with a hammer. That can cause all sorts of
issues with the crank (broken balancer, crank walk, etc.

Subject: DML: Crank Seal

My '96 has been leaking oil. It seems to be coming from the front crank
seal because it's being slung around by the fan creating a splatter pattern
on the overflow bottle, battery and underneath the hood above the radiator.
Many more places but this is where it's most prominent.

What's involved in replacing the crank seal? Just the belt, pulley and
balancer? It's a 4X4 too. I can't crawl underneath to look due to recent
neck surgery.

Thanks,
James
