Sealed beams vs Plastic headlamps assys

I'll take the sealed beams anyday, but why can't they make
the current plastic housing and safely have a method of
attaching a glass lens??? Cost of units & cost of added
step of assembling the 2 pieces... Cheap Cheap Cheap..
for the mfg process.. To Hell with what it cost the
consumer some years later.. This "cut the # lf inventory
pieces" is costing us a fortune in having to purchase
complete assemblies later on.
