Hello - My name is Tom, and I'm a recovering Top Poster....
Some years ago when I first came to this town, I used to be a hard core
top poster... I would go on top posting binges... I wouldn't care about
the people I loved or the people who cared about me... I would just top
post as if it didn't matter.
I didn't know at the time, how much suffering and agony I was putting my
friends and family through. It required several interventions... and
for a while I had to stay away from keyboards completly. The mere sight
of a set of keys made me want to log on and top post for hours. Even 12
Quote programs didn't work for me.
Tt wasn't until my old typing class teacher in school committed suicide,
that the impact of my actions struck me. The frustration and stress was
too much for her I guess... I would show up late for class, I was up
all night long on top posting benders on my computer at home. I would
sneak in a top posts in the middle of an assignment. I remember the
humiliation when she would take the paper away from me and hold it up in
front of the class to make an example. The looks and stares were terrible.
I have had a few relapses over the years - but I can tell you all that
thanks to the wonderful support of The DML, I am top post free for well
over 5 years now! I see a top post and I look at it and say - my god
... I used to be that bad... how could I ever do that to myself?
Today I live a happy life on the bottom...
(Sobbing!!!) I love you guys!!!!!!!!
