The particles in the cat expand as it heats up, sitting would let them
settle but they'd still be warm after 45 minutes, but if they settle
at the right point, i.e. input or output, it would completely zap your
power and back firing would force it out of the way and clear it up.
That is, unless I understand cats less than what little I thought I
do.
