Last follow-up. Really.

This was the brake job from hell. Murphy kicked my butt! But it's done.

So after realizing I had to replace the wheel cylinders, I took Tom's
advice and bought everything I'd possibly need for the job. Shoes,
brake kits, hard lines, etc. I went to town. Had a little trouble
getting the old wheel cylinders off - I snapped a bolt or two and
rounded one off. I took a grinder to that one. Big grin.

So what else could go wrong? Well let me tell you. I got everything
back together... made the decision not to replace the driver's side
hard line because it was only a year old and the nut still spins well
on the tube. I start by bleeding the passenger side. The new bleed
nipple is terrible quality (leaks through threads as soon as you
loosen) so I can't do a one-man brake job. No prob, I've got help. I
bleed the pass side. Great! No more bubbles. Drivers side... why am I
spewing fluid!? That 1-yr-old hard line didn't seal properly. In
trying to tighten it, my little wrench slips off the nut and hits me
square in the nose. Cool. Eff it, I'll replace it... already bought
the new hard line.
Back together, time to bleed... Turns out the bleeder nipple took the
same hit my nose did. I broke the bastard! A new wheel cylinder (can't
find the correct sized bleeder) and the problem's solved. Finally.
Stay tuned to my next post to see how well the brakes worked!
