Timothy 6:10 ' "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and
some by longing for it have pierced themselves with many griefs."
These are part of the instructions to those who minister.
Living a good/clean life, having a strong foundation, and taking care of
your family isn't an evil thing let alone against the teachings (Old or New
Testament or Torah). Making money for excess profits is an evil if it's not
used for the better good. Remember, we all came into this world without any
clothes or riches, we leave this world the same way. As long as a strong
foundation is left for our children, we've done our job.
('Foundation' doesn't mean house, money, or any worldly possessions either)

He is right. The actual translation is "The love of money is the root of all
evil." If it is just money that is the root of all evil then we should all
just live in communes and give up al of our material possessions and
pursuit.
I have a love of security. This is why I live in Northeast PA (I also like
the woods) and commute to NYC every day. It is the cheapest rural area
within a two hour commute of NYC. I like the disposable income it affords
me. Disposable for things like paying my daughter's college tuition this
year.
I leave my house at 4:30, my bus two NYC leaves at 4:55. It arrives in NYC
ay 6:55 and I get to my office at 7:10. I leave my office at 4:45. The bus
leaves NYC at 5:20 (I have to go uptown to get my bus home) and, because of
rush hour traffic, it arrives back in PA at 7:45 (on average). I am in my
home about 7:55. This is a long day and I am exhausted. I have no guilt
accepting the healthy compensation paid to me. Working at Wal-Mart would be
a vacation for me justifying the pittance wage.
