WTF! I think my heater core is shot!

I found antifreeze on the passengers side floorboard
this afternoon. Considering this is a 98 with 150K+
miles on it its no shame. Guess I need to do a swap
out of the heater core. Everything I've heard here on
the DML says you need to damn near pull the dash out
to get access to this thing. Now I was just reading
the procedure I have in my FSM and all it says is
this:

1) Remove passengers siderear trim panel

2) Drain cooling systems

3) Remmove three blend door actuator screws

4) Remove blend door actuator and place aside

5) Remove two screws from heater/evaporator tubes
plastic retainer

6) Using spring clamp type pliers remove clamps from
the heater hoses

7) Using a twisting motion remove the hoses from the
heater core

8) Lift the heater core out of the heater-AC housing

Installation is the reverse steps.

Now no where in that did I read about nearly having to
disassemble the dash, or has DC neatly left that part
out?

Any help, tips or tricks that I'd need to know wouold
be greatly appreciated. Truck is a 98 with a 3.9L
w/AC.

Ray
