Voltage and ignition switch problems - related?

So a week ago my check engine light started coming on occasionally. I
checked the code, I think it was 46. Anyway, I looked it up (when I
could still remember the number) and the book says high voltage was
detected. That tells me voltage regulator.... agree? Anything else
cause that problem? So I watched the voltmeter more carefully after
that - and it fluctuates slightly, even at a steady RPM (high or low).
So I may dig up my old documentation on splicing in an external
voltage regulator.

My ignition switch problems started Sunday night. I shut the truck
off, and my aftermarket radio shut right off (it usually plays for 10
seconds or so after key-off. Wierd, I thought. So when I went to start
her back up, I had lost all my presets. A PITA, but I can deal. Well,
next time I started it up, keying on failed for half a second before
turning the starter. Wierd. So I turned the key one click out to shut
off the engine, but leave key ON. Well power was off... all power. I
turned the key off and then to ACC... still no power. Back to ON
position, I have power again. No problems starting, except the one
time it paused for a half second.

Any way these could be related? I know how to fix the VR... haven't
looked into what's involved in repairing / replacing the ignition
switch... assuming thats my problem.

It's a 94 5.2L for all intents & purposes.

Thanks
