I have no idea.

By "the mod" I presume you mean the valve size? Lemme 'splain this...I
chose to use MP stainless steel valves instead of stockers, the price was
the same regardless of size, I was having a valve job done anyway, and my
head porter wanted the larger valve so he could blend the bowl better. Any
larger and there would be some shrouding in the combustion chamber that
would cost me to have corrected...not to mention a slight loss of
compression. As far as I'm concerned, the valve size is insignificant.

The stock 1.92 is larger than any non-magnum 318 or 360 ever came with from
the factory. A street/strip 318 just doesn't *need* any bigger. I really
don't know if it helped or hurt in mine. I just know the end result of the
porting was 4 tenths and 4 mph in the quarter with no loss of ET in the
sixty foot times.

Something you should be aware of is the ports were not touched beyond a mild
clean-up and slight reduction in the pushrod pinch. The majority of the
work was in the bowls. The combustion chambers were CC'd and the heads
milled .022. I used a stock 318 magnum head gasket. (There was a reason
for this which will be considered a "speed secret" for now.) :-)

Also be aware, as I've said in the past, it's all about the "combination".
Head work without the right cam, gears, converter, intake, exhaust, is just
so much wasted money! :-)

Dan, I suspect the reason you are asking these questions through the DML
rather than writing me directly (as you have done in the past) is....you
want to see if someone takes issue with what I say. All I can say is...I
dunno, and I don't care. When someone else makes a street driven,
naturally aspirated, single exhaust, 3700 pound Dak run better than mine
with a different combination I may pay attention. Till then, it is what it
is....and I'm ok with it. It's a bracket racer. I don't *have* to be
faster! LOL
