No, ALL V8 small blocks are LA engines. The LA series includes the 273, 318
(67-up) 340 360 and V10.
The Magnum engines are the Magnum version of the LA series.
The only difference is in the heads and how the heads are oiled, through the
pushrod. The block can be drilled to oil the same as the pre-Magnum LA engines.
