Actually no... in case it wasn't clear, LA and Magnum are engine
designations. Gen I, Gen II, etc are body/chassis designations. The
3.9 V6 and smallblock V8s are LA engines, until they were modified to
Magnum engines in 92. Gen I Dakotas are 87-90, Gen II 91-96. Some Gen
I trucks got LA V8s (the Shelbys) and some Gen II trucks got LA
engines, both V6 and V8 ('91). The statement can be made that no
Magnums were put in Gen I trucks. Except mine ;-)
