You must realize that emissions testing is pushed by the New Car
Dealers Assn. They want to keep selling new cars. All the emissions
test really is, is a tax. They keep lowering the emissions standard
to the point of rediculous so that you have no choice but to get rid
of the used car and finally a new one. I heard a scientist say that
the upholstery in a car gives off more hydrocarbons than some exhaust
standards...how ridiculous is that? We had the emissions testing in
GA and it made not one difference at all to the air quality according
to a ten year study by the EPA...They did not want to release the
report to the public, but the late Senator Paul Coverdale forced them.
