Finding a smaller pulley might be difficult. The stock pulley on my
alternator is already pretty small, and to go much smaller you'd have a hard
timing getting a socket on the nut to tighten it down. This applies to the
'97+ alternator pulleys. I think the '96 and older had slightly larger
pulleys stock.

I dunno, Tom. Wouldn't it be simpler/cheaper to use a high amp factory
alternator (used/new/rebuilt) with a smaller pulley for better output at low
rpms along with dual batteries for more reserve capacity?
