Since heated mirrors weren't an option until '01+ on the daks, I doubt you
will have the wiring. And yes, it was tied in with the defrost button for
control.

Subject: DML: Question about outside mirrors

My outside mirrors have cracked glass, not bad enough to need
immediate replacing, but bad enough that I'm planning on replacing
them at some point. My stock mirrors (97 V6, extended cab, 2wd) are
power with no heat, and my question is, is the wiring to control the
heat on the heated mirrors in place already, and if so, how are the
heated mirrors controlled? Is there a specific switch for the heat
function (that I would need to add), or does it tie into the defrost
controls? Mainly I'm curious if it's a simple matter of just swapping
in heated mirrors, or if I would need to do some extra work to make it
functional.

Thanks,
Kurt
