Some of the higher-end aftermarket scanners can access the TCM and other
modules. Sounds like the solenoid plate on the top of the valve body is bad
then. It's a normal thing at the dealerships to see those fail. The older
ones has issues with the debris finding its way into the top of the
solenoids - causing codes galore. The updated solenoid plate has screens on
the tops of the solenoids now.

That's what he thought it was (he's a Chrysler MasterTech). He talked about
pulling the valve body and something else to get to it. I assume only dealer
scan tools can access the TCM?
