So what's the code?

And yes...the MagnaFlow cats work very well.

Subject: DML: a little help please

I know this has been talked about somewhere here, but I'm getting a little
brain fog right now.

Last night I went about two miles to a donut shop, about two blocks short of
it was a slight S curve, so I just took my foot of the gas. Poof, the engine
died. Yes a check engine had been on for a few days. So I steered it into
the parking lot and looked at it.

The check engine light was now off, and it would start, but would die at
anything less than about 900-1000 rpms. Otherwise it seemed to be running as
usual.

I'm not in shape to walk that far, so I thought I'd chance it, by the "two
foot" method. It worked, didn't stall out until I backed it into a space.

It seems like the crank sensor can be ruled out, as it usually causes a
complete no start condition. IAC motor? Can it cause that? It has a three
month old Bosch pump in it, under waranty. I can't hear a vacuum leak, not
saying that there isn't one.

Nothing like this has ever happened before. I have put about 97,000 on it in
two years plus. By the way, it's a '98 CC with a 3.9 and a 42RE, all stock.

By the way, there are problems getting OBDII cats here in California right
now due to a new CARB rule, but the manager at my area Kragen says they list
a high performance cat from Magna-Flow. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for any help, I just can't remember where my problem was discussed
here in the past. Biff Byrum
