In the 70's and 80's, on some cars, Vettes, Camaros and Trans Ams come to
mind first, totally different engines were mandatory and no stick shift
trannies in Ca. Imagine a 180HP 305 cube Vette with a Turbo 350 trans, it
happened in 1979 or 80 I think it was, Ca only. My Cummins is 50 state
certified, the 600 series has been since it came out in 2004 1/2.
