Matt,
On the rectifiers, if the relay is mechanical ( i.e. it has a solenoid which moves a set of contacts together ) then the any reverse current flow from the fan spinning would not harm it. Its an open circuit at this point.
Also I went to Rockauto to dig up some measurements for the radiator I have. ( I have a 1992 Dakota with the 5.2L engine) I found part number 9917 from the maker 'VISTEON'. Do a "part number" search at rockauto.com and plug in 9917 to see what I mean.
That radiator diagram that appears says 648 x 445mm, which is 25.51 x 17.52", for the actual core area of the radiator*. However, your fan measurements you just posted were roughly 21.5 x 16.0".
In my case, I would need to extend the shroud edges to make up the difference in order to mount it on my radiator. Do you have the same issue? Or is your radiator smaller?
* I made a quick n' crude measurement this morning and the numbers from that diagram are pretty close to what I got.
