On my '03 3.9 CC Dak the pipe from the cat to the muffler was clamped
and tack welded to the muffler. However, if you are just chopping and
dropping all of it aft of the cat that may or may not be an issue.

I ended up using a cutoff wheel to take about 3/4" off the front of the
muffler pipe and it popped right out.
