I've got over 100K on my 4.7l 2000 4x4 Dak. No problems here. Only complaint I've ever had was the gear ratio. I got it for towing, so my mpg is lower.
I thought dodge had an engine now that dropped 4 cylinders when you don't need all the power. Wasn't it a hemi?

Hey all.
Due to my family growing and my son's car seat not fitting in the back of my 92 Dak CC, I am looking at buying a quad cab ram. What I've been wondering is how good of an engine is the 4.7L? I'd love to have a Hemi, but most of the Hemi powered rams are just out of my reach financially. How is the engine for durability? What are the rough mileage numbers like compared to the 5.2L I'm running now? Anything I should be looking for when I'm checking these trucks over?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
