Once you are firing on all 8 cylinders you should yield better results. As
far as the health of the Cat is concerned, if you haven't driven much with
all of that misfiring you should be in good shape. If the cat is toast, then
you can get an aftermarket 50-state legal cat pretty cheap that will outflow
the stock unit and most are a more efficient catalyst than the stock unit.
