As I recall they are a composite plastic piece, I think I'd aim for a good dish detergent and hot water after scraping things off with a putty knife. Brake cleaner is my usual cleaner of choice but it scares me to use it on plastic parts.
You could preclean with something like WD40 if there's a lot of gook that might be tough to battle with just soap and water.
