I use old ATF to clean lots of things. You have to let it soak for
a bit, but if you don't think it will remove grease, just soak
your hands in it the next time you get them really greasy..
The majority wipes off on an old shop rag, then wash them
in warm soapy water and the ATF comes off very easily. If
the item you are trying to clean has layers & layers baked
on,it will take a bit of brushing with a slightly stiff brush, but
it will come off and not harm the covers....
