Check the linkage at the column - there was a recall for the gear selector assembly almost 2 years ago. On the cable, it's under the column cover. Check to make sure it's moving.

Thanks for the response. Can you tell me a bit more about the cable? Does it get stretched and need replacement, or get hung up on something under there? What should I look for? We will check out the linkage at the tranny today, if it warms up some...
