GVRW packages and brake sizes go hand and hand... RT's gross weight
ratings and tow ratings were low (everyone remember the tow and GAWR
issues when the RTs first came out?) RTs were set up for "sport truck"
not heavy hauler. Not suprised to hear they got 9 inch drums. I don't
think a 10 inch drum would be called light duty when a 9 inch is the
other option. Theres a reason 1 ton trucks with rear drums have 12 or
13 inch brakes, 2 or 3 inches wide - when 1/2 tons got 10 or 11 inch
diameters. Bigger drum = more surface area for shoe-to-drum contact =
better stopping.
