I was considering switching out the Transmission Solenoid -
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=983061. But if it is not
necessary, then I can save $80.

How does one adjust the bands? Do I need to get any special tools or
replacement items?

I did find this website... does it apply to mine?

For a V6, 4x4; do I have a 42RE or a 46RE trans?
