Also, with RTV less is more. If you goop it on it's much more likely to leak
than if you apply only what you need to seal the case. Run a small bead
around the mating surface and put the cover on while trying to avoid
smearing it around. If a bunch gets on the inside it can act like a wick and
actually draw the lubricant through.
