Rather than a "polishing" kit, if you're handy with a drill you should try
the Headlight "Restoration" kit from 3M. I've tried the "polishing" kits
before and you're right, the results don't last long (and weren't like new
anyway). I used the 3M kit on two cars earlier this year and the results
were truly "like new"! So far, so good.

Right now I know the 3M kit is available from Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys
