Hello, All!
My name is Harold Borders (most everyone calls me Buddy). I purchased my '95
Dakota Club Cab SLT in June, '95. It is Emerald Green Metalic w/Silver
centerband. I got the V-8, Auto, 2WD, dealer inst. trans cooler, cup holder
(w/knee slicing option), and no tray table. ;) It has a drop in bedliner,
Leer paint matched cap, and hitch. So far, so good for a truck off the lot. :)
It seems that there are some minor differances in the paint mixes that CC
uses. I had my choice of 5 shades of PGF. I found this out after my cap was
installed and told them that they sold me black cap. Three weeks later, it
was installed for the final time.
I average 12 mpg/city, 18 hwy. About average (pun intended), I guess. The
motor is MUCH more powerful than the S-10 w/2.8 V-6 that I traded. It
doesn't seem to mind the camper at all!
Problems noticed-
1) Rear shock bolts loosened up and caused an odd thumping sound. Simple fix.
2) While fixing shock, I noticed that the Y-pipe had a crunch around the
diameter. Anyone else notice this?
3) The trans has a distinct shudder around 2-5 mph. I think that I am
developing a distinct problem here. I am hoping to have it into the dealer
during Christmas week to correct this.
4) Steering wheel is slightly askew. I'm not sure if it is from the crown of
the road or slight misalignment. A friend had a bent lower A-arm from the
factory on his Dakota. I don't think that is my problem.
5) Tires break traction frequently. I think CC should have given us all an
extra set of rear tires. ;)
Overall, my wife and I are quite pleased with my plush toy. I am looking
forward to a long and happy life with it. (Gotta get my money's worth!)
-Buddy
