Took it in to the dealer today, to see if they could at least get some of it
cleaned off for me, then I'll go from there I suppose.. The chain lube idea
might work and also you'd be able to get in the crevices between springs.
At least they've addressed it in their new (fullsize) trucks.

FWIW, I've got an 88 Chevy 1/2 ton and theres not a spot of rust on any
of the undercarriage.

guess they wanted to compare v6's to v6's but you're right.. that's not the
point.. the curb weight of the Dak is quite a bit more than the other trucks
(which means it can carry a heck of a lot more etc:)

They're the same way with cars. if it's not a Honda or a Toyota, they rip on it.
(cept maybe for a Taurus) I just check them out in the local library.. I wont
pay money for an issue.

It comes down to the weight and payload capacity.. also.. there is no room
(interior) in any of the models (cept the Dakota) this for us was the biggest
selling point. Heck, when you look at the T100 it doesn't have *that* much
interior space for it's size. We felt cramped in the S-10 and in the
Ranger, I
barely had enough headroom (note: I'm not extremely tall either)

I'll followup when I get the truck back this afternoon.
