Well look at the new breed of Stockcars or rather Stocktrucks. The NASCAR
Sport Truck Racing Series you don't see them hauling anything, just hauling.
Trucks come with bigger standard engines than most cars do now days and for
those of us who yearn for the muscle car days have a new direction. I have
a '94 Dakota Sport 3.9L, 5-Spd and put in the red liner that Rhino offers,
it looks great and I don't have to worry about the paint because, yes you're
right it's not there anymore. But trucks aren't just for hauling loads of
gravel and wood and the likes, there are become more sporty and a hobby for
some people. A Rhino liner LOOKS better that any drop in liner ever will.
I think that's the bottom line, at least for those who don't use there
trucks for hauling.

         No offense taken.

But if one uses a truck to haul STUFF like engines, rocks,
nail-embedded wood, and old appliances, they will cause a LOT more
dents and deep gouges and resulting rust with a sprayed-on liner
than with a plastic one. The rust that forms where the paint is
worn away by the liner is kept under control by the same wearing
action. As a bonus, loading and unloading of the real heavy stuff
is made a lot easier by the slippery surface. Loads shifting in
transit is no problem if they are properly tied down or if the
ridges in the liner are cleverly utilized.

         Now...

What I can't figure out is why anyone would buy a truck if they
         aren't hauling STUFF?

         Hopefully THAT didn't offend
anyone.
