OK, first let me spew about 2WD vs 4WD. 4WD is a great option, IF you're
going to use it. It's fairly expensive, both in purchase price and for post-
warranty parts. Since I'd really only need it occasionally (we don't get
a lot of snow here in Durham, NC, and I only hit the beach infrequently),
I didn't even consider 4WD.

ClubCab vs. regular cab. Well, the club cab is another expensive option.
FWIW, I really like mine. It's great being able to throw the groceries
or whatever in the back, or being able to take some friends along without
any hassles. It's also heavier than the regular cab. Whether it's worth
another 2 or 3 thousand dollars is something you'll have to figure out for
yourself.

Price. We factory ordered our '95 club cab with the 318 V8, 5sp, 2WD,
towing package, 2000# payload, 3.55 sure-grip rear end, Super SLT trim,
for $17,100 out the door (including title, tags, dest. charge, and 3%
NC state tax). There was a local Farm Bureau $500 rebate, which brought
our cost down to $16.6K. I don't remember the exact MSRP, and this wasn't
the best deal in the universe, but it wasn't too bad (especially considering
the fact that dealers are not too willing to haggle on factory orders).

We looked at all comparable products, both domestic and import, and the
Dakota gave us the most for our money.

>So, how's the reliability? How's the price?

Reliability is fine, so far. I won't want to make a judgement until
I've got 20K mi on the truck, though.
