Frank and Geof, thanks for saying...

I subscribe and didn't notice this information until you mentioned it. I
also have all this stuff and more (aluminum pullys and valve covers) on
my 95 RAM 1500 SWB Club Cab. It was ordered this way through my dealer
who also sold me the 100,000 extended warranty and has honored it. Did I
mention they have a framed and enlarged picture of it doing a burnout at
a local drag strip in their service department?

My RAM weighs 4,950 lbs. with a full tank of fuel and me in it. I don't
have 60 MPH times, but it works out that I am doing almost exactly 70 MPH
at the 1/8 mile. The time slip that shows 70.000 exactly was done in
10.09 seconds. Granted, my truck is heavier than the one tested, but I
probably am not geting the 0-60 they quoted.

I use stock tires, have 3.55 limited slip (wish it was 3.90) and don't have
any trouble hooking up as long as the rears are deflated to 18 lbs. and I
don't foot brake at the starting line over about 1,250 RPM. A two-step or
better tires would probably improve both times and consistency.

Remember, someone has to install this. A racer friend and I did the
headers and cat back exhaust, a job that took over a day to get right and
we had to torch off the brand new exhaust system as it was crimped
together so tightly, no amount of heat and pressure could salvage it.
Chrysler should have the workers who install the exhaust system give
lessons to those who install the interiors!

The dealer did the cam and anything else that touched the engine. One of
their mechanics who races supervised and degreed the cam right to specs.
I watched and another day and about $600 was consumed.

I did the K&N air filter and performance computer (15 minutes), which gives
the biggest performance boost (about .5 second). Stock with 300 miles, and
before modifications, the truck ran a 16.77 1/4 mile. After all
modifications, the truck has run a 15.77 best at 85 MPH. One year later,
with 25,000 miles and over 200 passes (full throttle burnout from the water
box through 3 gears) with one major win in an all-run bracket race, nothing
mechanical has given way. I managed to break the passenger seat adjuster
and the dealer is fixing it under warranty (their call, I didn't even ask)
