The 3.9 v6 is the 5.2v8 with two cylinders loped off. The length is different
but the width is the same (as are many internal and external parts).
5.2 x .75 = 3.9

I remember hearing/reading at one time a while back
that when CC intro'd the V8, they had to spread the
two frames wider to allow more room for the engine.
I suppose that is what is widening your turning
radius between the V6 and V8.
