I've had Monroe Sensa-Tracs on my 92 4x4 for the last 2 1/2 years or so
and have had no trouble with them except for breaking one with a rear
sway bar clamp. It sounds like your problem is with road salt that
doesn't get wiped off the piston rod and the only solution that I can
think of FWIW is an accordion boot that'd cover the the piston rod.

Good luck finding something that works in any case.
