I've got a '93 with the Club Cab; 4x4, V8. I've put 20K miles on a set of
31x10.5-15 tires. I have a little bit of rubbing up front against the front
cross-member, but only at full lock. This is about as big as the truck will
fit in overall diameter without a lift though.

These tires make for very nice off-road capabilities. The extra inch over the
P235-75R15s doesn't sound like much, but is incredible for rock scrambling.
There is noticeably more roll on hard cornering though. You have a lot more
rubber on the road for fast launches, and the flotation in deep sand improves.

I really don't know if tires this big will fit a 2x, I kinda doubt it - they
have noticeably less clearance, especially in back.

My '93 has four-channel Kelsey-Hayes ABS. The computer is on the left front
fender, near the fuse box. Is there another controller in the dash? Maybe
the body computer, in charge of lights, etc? BTW, ABS is a LOT of fun off-road!
I'm serious, you get controlled braking on surfaces you wouldn't dare to use
your brakes on otherwise.

>Just for the record, my 1994 doesn't have a frame mounted fuel filter

Just for the record, my '93 V8 DOES have the frame-mounted filter. Maybe we can
nail down the date this mod was introduced. The old parts may still be available,
which leads to the possibility of retro-retrofits. Maybe the gas tank's were
changed too?

Happy Motoring!
