&
& On the way home from the salt mine last night I noticed that I've a coolent
& loss problem. I know it is from the top of the radiator _somewhere_ and I've
& just installed a new cap. That may be all it needed but it did get me thinking
& that here in the California deserts or waiting in the long border lines from
& Mexico a larger capacity radiator might be worth considering.

& Does Dodge, or does anybody else, offer a larger capacity radiator for this
& truck? Would one for a 5.9 engine fit?

Dodge sells a "heavy duty" cooling system option, I assume it is a
bigger radiator. A cheaper fix might be to add a bottle of Redline
Water Wetter. It can drop the temperature quite a bit. Also if it
doesn't get too cold in your area thin out the water anti-freeze mix
from 50/50 to 75% distilled water/25% anti-freeze. Water has much more
cooling capability than anti-freeze. The Water Wetter also has
anti-corrosion additives so that souldn't be a problem.

How does Water Wetter affect engine temp when used with/without antifreeze?

This was taken from the web page listed below:

Temperature recordings at block water jacket exit, after stabilizing:

Water Anti-Freeze Water Wetter Temperature (F)
        50% 50% No 228
        50% 50% Yes 220
        100% 0% No 220
        100% 0% Yes 202
