I have the Monroes on my 94 extended cab 4x4 Dakota and they work great.
For tires I have had at one time or another, on one truck or another -
Birdgestone Duelers, Wranglers, General AP Grabbers and General Ameriways.
I prefered the Ameriways - they were mud and snow rated- but had more of a
street than off road tread so they lasted longer (I was commuting 141 miles
round trip on Hwy 1 on the California Coast) - they also had a great weight
capacity @ 42 psi. My second choice would be the AP Grabbers, I guess
General makes good tires. Come winter I'll be looking at 30" Grabbers or
Dunlop Rovers I'm running 235s now.
My 2 cents worth on rubber.
